Time elapses clockwise and the Time Timer can be set at any point on the face. The timer disc may be moved manually in either direction. Visually and conceptually, this clock is perfect for my kiddo. We have him time many of his activities, as he has trouble with tracking time and transitions. I wish we had found this when he was younger! We had a different visual timer that was too complicated and confusing. Timers have saved us from many tantrums over the years. There is a lot of extra space in the battery compartment, so the battery gets dislodged easily. Just make sure to always check that the battery is in place and timer is on or maybe place some padding in there to keep the battery in place. If not for that, I would have given it 5 stars.

This is my second Time Timer and its even better than the original. Something about the kids being able to see the ‘Red Zone’ impresses a sense of time scale that is otherwise lost.
