It is simply a ruler sitting on their desk. The desk buddy is constructed from an FDA approved material so its even safe to chew on if the need was to arise. Not great if squeaky textures are a trigger. As someone on the spectrum, the material this is made of sets off negative sensory feedback for me, so if rubber is a sensory issue, I would not recommend. Otherwise seems perfectly durable for what it does.
