Her fear of people continued into her adult life, and her passion for watching movies as a child contributed to her career as an actress.

2. Bobby Fischer – Chess Grandmaster

Bobby Fischer is an American Grandmaster chess player who won the first of his eight US Championships at the age of 14. Throughout his controversial career as a chess player, Fischer struggled with organizational restraints and did not interact well with others.

3. Barbara McClintock – Cytogeneticist & Scientist

McClintock made several essential breakthroughs in the fields of chromosomes and how they change during the reproduction process. Throughout her life, she was averse to any social attention. She was also able to focus to great lengths on very specific interests, in particular her scientific work, which is what led to many people believing she had ASD. At one stage, she was so averse to social interactions that she almost refused the Nobel Prize for her work.

While hosting the ‘Saturday Night Live’ show in 2021, Elon announced that he was on the autism spectrum and later claimed he was the first person with Asperger’s to host the late-night television show. With a net worth of over $150 billion, Musk is involved with several high-profile companies, including Tesla, SpaceX, and recently Twitter.

5. Dr. Vernon Smith – Professor

Dr. Smith is a professor of economics at Chapman University, and it’s believed that he invented the field of experimental economics, which ultimately led to a Nobel Prize. Dr. Smith believes that his ASD has helped him throughout his career because he doesn’t feel social pressure like other people, allowing him to think outside the box and remain open-minded while coming up with new ideas.
